The Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity to offer public tours of the Eames Archives within new Bay Area Headquarters

With a new Bay Area headquarters, the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity is opening its vast collection to the public for the very first time. Ticketed tours of the Eames Archives will be bookable beginning February 1 and will commence on February 14. Located in Richmond, California, the newly refurbished space will consolidate much of the Institute’s collection – the majority of which originates from the Eames Office at 901 Washington Boulevard in Venice, California – under one roof for the first time, and create new opportunities for curation and exhibition of the prized pieces. 

Launched in March 2022, the nonprofit Eames Institute aims to inspire contemporary audiences to engage in the practice of design by imparting the legacy of Ray and Charles Eames—through physical installations, a robust digital presence, and printed publications. Following the launch of nine acclaimed online exhibitions, this opening is a major turning point for the Institute, and will enable the nonprofit to better and more directly share the Eameses' legacy and lasting influence.

The Eames Archives will open reservations to the public for guided tours, led by Llisa Demetrios, on February 1. Tickets can be purchased at eamesinstitute.org. Tours will begin from February 14, and are held Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays by appointment only. Going forward, tickets for the following month will be released on the first of each month.
