Savile Row announces Theatre of Craft: a journey into the world of bespoke tailoring
To mark the reopening of Savile Row and easing of retail restrictions, The Pollen Estate is delighted to announce Theatre of Craft, an event in which visitors will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the world of bespoke tailoring. Commencing on April 12th, visitors to the street will be taken through each stage of crafting and caring for a bespoke garment.
The experience will kick-off in Savile Row’s recently launched coffee bar and gallery space, The Service, where an exhibition by Dugdale Bros & Co showcasing the journey of a Savile Row suit from raw fibre to finished garment. From here, following takeaway coffee brewed by expert baristas from The Fresh Coffee Co., visitors will be invited to promenade Savile Row to witness the bespoke process in action. On the East side of the prestigious street, visitors will observe the craftsmen and women, who devote themselves to producing the pieces, at work in their studios. Meanwhile, on the West side of the Row, the focus will be on the processes of repair; with installations including pattern cutting, leather work, and hand embroidery from new arrivals Savile Row Valet, Hawthorne & Heaney, and Dobrik & Lawton.
The Theatre of Craft will be taking place from 12th April 2021, along Savile Row.
